Shining Genesect 9/73 · Shining Legends

Shining Legends is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on October 6, 2017. The printed size is 73. This checklist is longer, at 81 cards. Shining Genesect is 9/73, in position 9 of 81 on this checklist. Before it is 8 Virizion, and after it is 10 Entei-GX. The listed rarity is Rare Shining.

Shining Genesect is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Genesect (#649), generation 5 (Unova).

Hitoshi Ariga illustrated this card. The same name is on 155 other cards in the catalog.

Genesect (#649) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Genesect BW86/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card is named Genesect, while this one is Shining Genesect. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Shining. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Hitoshi Ariga illustrated this one. 24 other cards of Genesect list a different HP.

Energy Reload is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may move a Grass Energy from 1 of your other Pokémon to this Pokémon. The attack Gaia Blaster lists 50+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 20 more damage times the amount of Grass Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "This ancient bug Pokémon was altered by Team Plasma. They upgraded the cannon on its back."

I keep a set binder for Shining Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Shining Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Genesect can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
