Xurkitree 39/131 · Forbidden Light

Xurkitree is Pokédex #796, generation 7 (Alola). Xurkitree is a Basic Ultra Beast Lightning Pokémon with 120 HP.

Xurkitree sits at 39/131 in Forbidden Light, position 40 of 150. Before it is 38 Heliolisk, and after it is 40 Rotom. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 4, 2018. The printed size is 131. This checklist is longer, at 150 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Dazzle Blast lists 20 damage. The cost is Lightning. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. Cablegram is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. If you have exactly 3 Prize cards remaining, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It appeared from the Ultra Wormhole. It raided a power plant, so people think it energizes itself with electricity."

Xurkitree (#796) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 4 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2019. The earliest other card is Xurkitree-GX SM68/248 in SM Black Star Promos (2017). That card is named Xurkitree-GX, while this one is Xurkitree. That card lists 180 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 4 other cards of Xurkitree list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shin Nagasawa. I count 303 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Forbidden Light set binder is where a full Forbidden Light set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Xurkitree can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). I still need this card.
