Rotom 40/131 · Forbidden Light

Rotom is Pokédex #479, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Rotom is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 70 HP.

Rotom sits at 40/131 in Forbidden Light, position 41 of 150. Before it is 39 Xurkitree, and after it is 41 Uxie. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on May 4, 2018. The printed size is 131. This checklist is longer, at 150 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

Roto Motor is listed as Ability. If you have 9 or more Pokémon Tool cards in your discard pile, ignore all Energy in the attack cost of each of this Pokémon's attacks. The attack Plasma Slice lists 120 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Psychic. This Pokémon can't attack during your next turn. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its body is composed of plasma. It is known to infiltrate electronic devices and wreak havoc."

Rotom (#479) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2008 to 2026. The earliest other card is Rotom 7/106 in Great Encounters (2008). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Daisuke Ito illustrated that card, and Naoyo Kimura illustrated this one. 35 other cards of Rotom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Naoyo Kimura. I count 256 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Forbidden Light set binder is where a full Forbidden Light set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Rotom can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
