Shiftry-GX 14/168 · Celestial Storm

Shiftry is Pokédex #275, generation 3 (Hoenn). Shiftry-GX is a Stage 2 GX Grass Pokémon with 240 HP. The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Shiftry-GX sits at 14/168 in Celestial Storm, position 15 of 187. Before it is 13 Nuzleaf, and after it is 15 Surskit. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo GX.

The attack Perplex lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. Extrasensory is another attack lists 90+ damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. If you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent, this attack does 90 more damage. Den of Iniquity-GX is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. Your opponent shuffles that Pokémon and all cards attached to it into their deck. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card is named Shiftry, while this one is Shiftry-GX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 240 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo GX. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and PLANETA Igarashi illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads PLANETA Igarashi. I count 41 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Celestial Storm set binder is where a full Celestial Storm set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
