Shiftry-GX 169/168 · Celestial Storm

Celestial Storm is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. Shiftry-GX is 169/168, in position 172 of 187 on this checklist. Before it is 168 Underground Expedition, and after it is 170 Blaziken-GX. The collector number is above the printed set size of 168. The listed rarity is Rare Rainbow.

Shiftry-GX is a Stage 2 GX Grass Pokémon with 240 HP. In the Pokédex this is Shiftry (#275), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

PLANETA Igarashi illustrated this card. The same name is on 41 other cards in the catalog.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card is named Shiftry, while this one is Shiftry-GX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 240 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Rainbow. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and PLANETA Igarashi illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The attack Perplex lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. Extrasensory is another attack lists 90+ damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. If you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent, this attack does 90 more damage. Den of Iniquity-GX is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. Your opponent shuffles that Pokémon and all cards attached to it into their deck. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Celestial Storm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celestial Storm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
