Huntail 42/168 · Celestial Storm

Celestial Storm is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. Huntail is 42/168, in position 43 of 187 on this checklist. Before it is 41 Clamperl, and after it is 43 Gorebyss. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Huntail is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Huntail (#367), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Clamperl. In this catalog that name is Clamperl (#366).

Shigenori Negishi illustrated this card. The same name is on 151 other cards in the catalog.

Huntail (#367) has 6 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2025. The earliest other card is Huntail 19/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Shigenori Negishi illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Huntail list a different HP.

The attack Big Bite lists 30 damage. The cost is Water. The Defending Pokémon can't retreat during your opponent's next turn. Dangerous Bite is another attack lists 40+ damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It lives deep in the sea. With a tail shaped like a small fish, it attracts unsuspecting prey."

I keep a set binder for Celestial Storm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celestial Storm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Huntail can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
