Kingdra-GX 66/70 · Dragon Majesty

Kingdra is Pokédex #230, generation 2 (Johto). Kingdra-GX is a Stage 2 GX Water Pokémon with 230 HP. The card says it evolves from Seadra. In this catalog that name is Seadra (#117).

Kingdra-GX sits at 66/70 in Dragon Majesty, position 68 of 80. Before it is 65 Reshiram-GX, and after it is 67 Dragonite-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on September 7, 2018. The printed size is 70. This checklist is longer, at 80 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Hydro Pump lists 10+ damage. The cost is Colorless. This attack does 50 more damage times the amount of Water Energy attached to this Pokémon. Reverse Thrust is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Water. Switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Maelstrom-GX is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Water. This attack does 40 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Kingdra (#230) has 28 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Kingdra 8/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Kingdra, while this one is Kingdra-GX. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 230 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 26 other cards of Kingdra list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Dragon Majesty set binder is where a full Dragon Majesty set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kingdra can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
