Kyurem SM142/248 · SM Black Star Promos

SM Black Star Promos is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. Kyurem is SM142/248, in position 145 of 251 on this checklist. Before it is SM141 White Kyurem-GX, and after it is SM143 Moltres. The listed rarity is Promo.

Kyurem is a Basic Dragon Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Kyurem (#646), generation 5 (Unova).

Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this card. The same name is on 471 other cards in the catalog.

Kyurem (#646) has 49 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Kyurem-EX BW37/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card is named Kyurem-EX, while this one is Kyurem. That card lists 180 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 32 other cards of Kyurem list a different HP.

The attack Outrage lists 20+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 10 more damage for each damage counter on this Pokémon. Frost Spear is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. This attack does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fairy ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It generates a powerful, freezing energy inside itself, but its body became frozen when the energy leaked out."

I keep a set binder for SM Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SM Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyurem can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
