Raikou SM150/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Raikou is Pokédex #243, generation 2 (Johto). Raikou is a Basic Lightning Pokémon with 120 HP.

Raikou sits at SM150/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 153 of 251. Before it is SM149 Suicune, and after it is SM151 Giratina. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Lost Voltage lists 30+ damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless. If you have any Lightning Energy cards in the Lost Zone, this attack does 90 more damage. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "This rough Pokémon stores energy inside its body, then sweeps across the land, shooting off electricity."

Raikou (#243) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2026. The earliest other card is Raikou 13/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and nagimiso illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 22 other cards of Raikou list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads nagimiso. I count 156 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Raikou can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Legendary beasts. I still need this card.
