Chi-Yu 29/182 · Paradox Rift

Chi-Yu is Pokédex #1004, generation 9 (Paldea). Chi-Yu is a Basic Fire Pokémon with 110 HP.

Chi-Yu sits at 29/182 in Paradox Rift, position 29 of 266. Before it is 28 Iron Moth, and after it is 30 Horsea. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on November 3, 2023. The printed size is 182. This checklist is longer, at 266 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Flare Bringer lists no damage number. The cost is Fire. Attach up to 2 Basic Fire Energy cards from your discard pile to 1 of your Pokémon. Megafire of Envy is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Fire, Fire. If any of your Pokémon were Knocked Out by damage from an attack during your opponent's last turn, this attack does 90 more damage. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It controls flames burning at over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. It casually swims through the sea of lava it creates by melting rock and sand." The regulation mark is G.

Chi-Yu (#1004) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2023 to 2026. The earliest other card is Chi-Yu 57/102 in Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos (2023). Both list 110 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Dsuke illustrated that card, and Oswaldo KATO illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Chi-Yu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Oswaldo KATO. I count 84 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Paradox Rift set binder is where a full Paradox Rift set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Chi-Yu can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). I still need this card.
