Shiftry 163/162 · Temporal Forces

Shiftry is Pokédex #275, generation 3 (Hoenn). Shiftry is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 150 HP. The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Shiftry sits at 163/162 in Temporal Forces, position 163 of 218. Before it is 162 Neo Upper Energy, and after it is 164 Grotle. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on March 22, 2024. The printed size is 162. This checklist is longer, at 218 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 162. The listed rarity is Illustration Rare.

The attack Expelling Tornado lists no damage number. The cost is Grass. Choose 3 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. If you do, shuffle all of your opponent's Benched Pokémon that you didn't choose, and all cards attached to those Pokémon, into their deck. Energy Loop is another attack lists 140 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Put an Energy attached to this Pokémon into your hand. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "A Pokémon that was feared as a forest guardian. It can read the foe's mind and take preemptive action." The regulation mark is H.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Illustration Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and SIE NANAHARA illustrated this one. 19 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads SIE NANAHARA. I count 11 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Temporal Forces set binder is where a full Temporal Forces set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
