Kingdra ex 131/102 · Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos

Kingdra is Pokédex #230, generation 2 (Johto). Kingdra ex is a Stage 2 ex Water Pokémon with 310 HP. The card says it evolves from Seadra. In this catalog that name is Seadra (#117).

Kingdra ex sits at 131/102 in Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos, position 131 of 165. Before it is 130 Kingambit, and after it is 132 Greninja ex. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on January 1, 2023. The printed size is 102. This checklist is longer, at 165 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 102. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack King's Order lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Put up to 3 Water Pokémon from your discard pile onto your Bench. Hydro Pump is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 50 more damage for each Water Energy attached to this Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is H.

Kingdra (#230) has 28 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Kingdra 8/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Kingdra, while this one is Kingdra ex. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 310 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and akagi illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 26 other cards of Kingdra list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads akagi. I count 20 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos set binder is where a full Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kingdra can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
