Hoopa 111/189 · Darkness Ablaze

Darkness Ablaze is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on August 14, 2020. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 201 cards. Hoopa is 111/189, in position 111 of 201 on this checklist. Before it is 110 Hydreigon, and after it is 112 Nickit. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Hoopa is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Hoopa (#720), generation 6 (Kalos).

so-taro illustrated this card. The same name is on 18 other cards in the catalog.

Hoopa (#720) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2013 to 2026. The earliest other card is Hoopa-EX XY71/211 in XY Black Star Promos (2013). That card is named Hoopa-EX, while this one is Hoopa. That card lists 170 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Eske Yoshinob illustrated that card, and so-taro illustrated this one. 17 other cards of Hoopa list a different HP.

The attack Assault Gate lists 90 damage. The cost is Darkness. If this Pokémon didn't move from the Bench to the Active Spot this turn, this attack does nothing. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It gathers things it likes and passes them through its loop to teleport them to a secret place." The regulation mark is D.

I keep a set binder for Darkness Ablaze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Darkness Ablaze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Hoopa can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
