Evolving Skies is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on August 27, 2021. The printed size is 203. This checklist is longer, at 237 cards. Eldegoss is 16/203, in position 16 of 237 on this checklist. Before it is 15 Gossifleur, and after it is 17 Applin. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Eldegoss is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Eldegoss (#830), generation 8 (Galar). The card says it evolves from Gossifleur. In this catalog that name is Gossifleur (#829).

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Eldegoss (#830) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 8 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2019 to 2024. The earliest other card is Eldegoss SWSH046/307 in SWSH Black Star Promos (2019). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Mina Nakai illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is D, and here it is E. 7 other cards of Eldegoss list a different HP.

Cotton Lift is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may search your deck for up to 2 basic Energy cards, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. The attack Cotton Guard lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass. During your opponent's next turn, this Pokémon takes 30 less damage from attacks (after applying Weakness and Resistance). Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The cotton on the head of this Pokémon can be spun into a glossy, gorgeous yarn—a Galar regional specialty." The regulation mark is E.

I keep a set binder for Evolving Skies, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Evolving Skies set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Eldegoss can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). I still need this card.
