Shiftry 97/203 · Evolving Skies

Shiftry is Pokédex #275, generation 3 (Hoenn). Shiftry is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 150 HP. The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Shiftry sits at 97/203 in Evolving Skies, position 97 of 237. Before it is 96 Nuzleaf, and after it is 98 Scraggy. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on August 27, 2021. The printed size is 203. This checklist is longer, at 237 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Shiftadieu lists no damage number. The cost is Darkness. If your opponent's Active Pokémon has any damage counters on it, put it and all attached cards into your opponent's hand. Nipping Cyclone is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Discard a random card from your opponent's hand. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It lives quietly in the deep forest. It is said to create chilly winter winds with the fans it holds." The regulation mark is E.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 19 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Masakazu Fukuda. I count 471 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Evolving Skies set binder is where a full Evolving Skies set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
