Registeel 51/98 · Ancient Origins

Registeel is Pokédex #379, generation 3 (Hoenn). Registeel is a Basic Metal Pokémon with 120 HP.

Registeel sits at 51/98 in Ancient Origins, position 51 of 101. Before it is 50 Metagross, and after it is 52 Ralts. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on August 12, 2015. The printed size is 98. This checklist is longer, at 101 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Iron Head lists 30× damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless. Flip a coin until you get tails. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads. Forbidden Iron Hammer is another attack lists 70 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Pokémon-EX, discard an Energy attached to that Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its body is said to be harder than any kind of metal. A study has revealed that its body is hollow."

Registeel (#379) has 13 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Registeel ex 99/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card is named Registeel ex, while this one is Registeel. That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo EX, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 12 other cards of Registeel list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ancient Origins set binder is where a full Ancient Origins set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Registeel can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
