Moltres XY127/211 · XY Black Star Promos

Moltres is Pokédex #146, generation 1 (Kanto). Moltres is a Basic Fire Pokémon with 120 HP.

Moltres sits at XY127/211 in XY Black Star Promos, position 128 of 216. Before it is XY126 Mew-EX, and after it is XY128 White Kyurem. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on October 12, 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Combustion lists 20 damage. The cost is Fire. Flying Flare is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless, Colorless. You may do 40 more damage. If you do, this Pokémon does 20 damage to itself. Weakness is Water ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "One of the legendary bird Pokémon. It is said that its appearance indicates the coming of spring."

Moltres (#146) has 43 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 28 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Moltres 21/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and OOYAMA illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Moltres list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads OOYAMA. I count 29 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY Black Star Promos set binder is where a full XY Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Moltres can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Legendary birds. I still need this card.
