Lucario XY140/211 · XY Black Star Promos

XY Black Star Promos is a set in the XY series. It was released on October 12, 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Lucario is XY140/211, in position 141 of 216 on this checklist. Before it is XY139 Floette, and after it is XY141 Rayquaza. The listed rarity is Promo.

Lucario is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Lucario (#448), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Riolu. In this catalog that name is Riolu (#447).

Naoki Saito illustrated this card. The same name is on 270 other cards in the catalog.

Lucario (#448) has 59 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 39 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Lucario 6/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Naoki Saito illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 55 other cards of Lucario list a different HP.

The attack Bone Rush lists 30× damage. The cost is Fighting. Flip a coin until you get tails. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads. Mach Claw is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Fighting. This attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "By reading the auras of all things, it can tell how others are feeling from over half a mile away."

I keep a set binder for XY Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Lucario can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Riolu and Lucario. I still need this card.
