Shiftry 12/92 · Legend Maker

Legend Maker is a set in the EX series. It was released on 1 February 2006. The printed size is 92. This checklist is longer, at 93 cards. Shiftry is 12/92, in position 12 of 93 on this checklist. Before it is 11 Muk, and after it is 13 Victreebel. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Shiftry is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Shiftry (#275), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 20 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

Evolutionary Fan is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn, when you play Shiftry from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokémon, you may choose 1 of your Evolved Pokémon in play (excluding any Shiftry). Return that Pokémon and all cards attached to it to your hand. The attack Reactive Beating lists 30 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If Shiftry has any React Energy cards attached to it, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Cross-Cut is another attack lists 40+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon is an Evolved Pokémon, this attack does 40 damage plus 30 more damage. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -30. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Legend Maker, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Legend Maker set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
