Shiftry 13/111 · Rising Rivals

Shiftry is Pokédex #275, generation 3 (Hoenn). Shiftry is a Stage 2 Darkness Pokémon with 130 HP. The card lists level 55. The card says it evolves from Nuzleaf. In this catalog that name is Nuzleaf (#274).

Shiftry sits at 13/111 in Rising Rivals, position 13 of 120. Before it is 12 Roserade GL, and after it is 14 Aggron. The set belongs to the Platinum series. It was released on 16 May 2009. The printed size is 111. This checklist is longer, at 120 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Unlucky Wind is listed as Poké-Body. As long as Shiftry is your Active Pokémon, whenever your opponent flips a coin during his or her turn, treat it as tails. The attack Conform lists 40 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. If you have the same number of cards in your hand as your opponent, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Seal Off is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. The Defending Pokémon can't use any Poké-Powers or Poké-Bodies during your opponent's next turn. Weakness is Fire +30. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1.

Shiftry (#275) has 22 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shiftry 12/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 21 other cards of Shiftry list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Rising Rivals set binder is where a full Rising Rivals set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiftry can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
