Drakloak 248/217 · Ascended Heroes

Ascended Heroes is a set in the Mega Evolution series. It was released on 30 January 2026. The printed size is 217. This checklist is longer, at 295 cards. Drakloak is 248/217, in position 248 of 295 on this checklist. Before it is 247 Dreepy, and after it is 249 Larry's Staraptor. The collector number is above the printed set size of 217. Drakloak is a Stage 1 Dragon Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Drakloak (#886), generation 8 (Galar). The card says it evolves from Dreepy. In this catalog that name is Dreepy (#885).

Jerky illustrated this card. The same name is on 33 other cards in the catalog.

Drakloak (#886) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2020 to 2026. The earliest other card is Drakloak 90/192 in Rebel Clash (2020). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Illustration Rare. Kouki Saitou illustrated that card, and Jerky illustrated this one. The regulation mark there is D, and here it is H.

Recon Directive is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may look at the top 2 cards of your deck and put 1 of them into your hand. Put the other card on the bottom of your deck. The attack Dragon Headbutt lists 70 damage. The cost is Fire, Psychic. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This Pokémon stores up energy in its lungs, then shoots it out. It takes care of Dreepy and battles alongside them until they’re all grown up." The regulation mark is H.

I keep a set binder for Ascended Heroes, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Ascended Heroes set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Drakloak can fill a slot in Generation 8 binder (Galar). Themed lists that include this exact card are Dragon-type cards and Pseudo-legendary lines. I still need this card.
