Cranidos 44/84 · Pitch Black

Pitch Black is a set in the Mega Evolution series. It was released on 17 July 2026. The printed size is 84. This checklist is longer, at 120 cards. Cranidos is 44/84, in position 44 of 120 on this checklist. Before it is 43 Primeape, and after it is 45 Rampardos ex. The listed rarity is Common.

Cranidos is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Cranidos (#408), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Antique Skull Fossil.

Hideki Ishikawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 100 other cards in the catalog.

Cranidos (#408) has 6 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2022. The earliest other card is Cranidos DP07/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Common. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Hideki Ishikawa illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 6 other cards of Cranidos list a different HP.

The attack Push Down lists 70 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting. Switch out your opponent's Active Pokémon to the Bench. (Your opponent chooses the new Active Pokémon.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Cranidos toughen up their already sturdy heads by headbutting one another." The regulation mark is J.

I keep a set binder for Pitch Black, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Pitch Black set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Cranidos can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
