Shining Celebi 106/105 · Neo Destiny

Neo Destiny is a set in the Neo series. It was released on 28 February 2002. The printed size is 105. This checklist is longer, at 113 cards. Shining Celebi is 106/105, in position 106 of 113 on this checklist. Before it is 105 Mail from Bill, and after it is 107 Shining Charizard. The collector number is above the printed set size of 105. The listed rarity is Rare Shining.

Shining Celebi is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 50 HP. The card lists level 18. In the Pokédex this is Celebi (#251), generation 2 (Johto).

Hironobu Yoshida illustrated this card. The same name is on 38 other cards in the catalog.

Celebi (#251) has 35 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Celebi 50/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Celebi, while this one is Shining Celebi. Both list 50 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Shining. Hajime Kusajima illustrated that card, and Hironobu Yoshida illustrated this one. 31 other cards of Celebi list a different HP.

The attack Healing Water lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Remove a number of damage counters from 1 of your Benched Pokémon equal to the number of Water Energy cards attached to Shining Celebi. If the Pokémon has fewer damage counters than that, remove all of them. Miracle Leaf is another attack lists 10 damage. The cost is Grass, Psychic. Flip a number of coins equal to the number of Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. If you get 1 or more heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Asleep, Confused, or Poisoned (your choice). Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: You can't have more than 1 Shining Celebi in your deck. The flavor text reads "It is worshipped as a god of the forest. It appears only in undisturbed old-growth forests."

I keep a set binder for Neo Destiny, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Neo Destiny set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Celebi can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
