Giratina SM151/248 · SM Black Star Promos

SM Black Star Promos is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. Giratina is SM151/248, in position 154 of 251 on this checklist. Before it is SM150 Raikou, and after it is SM152 Tapu Lele. The listed rarity is Promo.

Giratina is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Giratina (#487), generation 4 (Sinnoh).

Shin Nagasawa illustrated this card. The same name is on 303 other cards in the catalog.

Giratina (#487) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Giratina LV.X DP38/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Giratina LV.X, while this one is Giratina. Both list 130 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. 22 other cards of Giratina list a different HP.

Distortion Door is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), if this Pokémon is in your discard pile, you may put it onto your Bench. If you do, put 1 damage counter on 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. The attack Shadow Impact lists 130 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless. Put 4 damage counters on 1 of your Pokémon. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It was banished for its violence. It silently gazed upon the old world from the Distortion World."

I keep a set binder for SM Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SM Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Giratina can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. I still need this card.
