Celebi XY187/211 · XY Black Star Promos

Celebi is Pokédex #251, generation 2 (Johto). Celebi is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 70 HP.

Celebi sits at XY187/211 in XY Black Star Promos, position 190 of 216. Before it is XY186 Magearna, and after it is XY188 Shaymin. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on 12 October 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Time Call lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for a card that evolves from 1 of your Pokémon and put it onto that Pokémon. (This counts as evolving that Pokémon.) Shuffle your deck afterward. Leech Seed is another attack lists 10 damage. The cost is Grass. Heal 10 damage from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It has the power to travel across time, but it is said to appear only in peaceful times."

Celebi (#251) has 35 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Celebi 50/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Hajime Kusajima illustrated that card, and Tomokazu Komiya illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Celebi list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Tomokazu Komiya. I count 248 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY Black Star Promos set binder is where a full XY Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Celebi can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Tomokazu Komiya cards. I still need this card.
