Bellossom 4/149 · Boundaries Crossed

Bellossom is Pokédex #182, generation 2 (Johto). Bellossom is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Gloom. In this catalog that name is Gloom (#044).

Bellossom sits at 4/149 in Boundaries Crossed, position 4 of 153. Before it is 3 Vileplume, and after it is 5 Tangela. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on November 7, 2012. The printed size is 149. This checklist is longer, at 153 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Grass Knot lists 10+ damage. The cost is Grass. Does 20 more damage for each Colorless in the Defending Pokémon's Retreat Cost. Petal Dance is another attack lists 50× damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Flip 3 coins. This attack does 50 damage times the number of heads. This Pokémon is now Confused. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When the heavy rainfall season ends, it is drawn out by warm sunlight to dance in the open."

Bellossom (#182) has 11 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2023. The earliest other card is Bellossom 3/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Mizue illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 10 other cards of Bellossom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mizue. I count 184 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Boundaries Crossed set binder is where a full Boundaries Crossed set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Bellossom can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
