Vespiquen 5/135 · Plasma Storm

Vespiquen is Pokédex #416, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Vespiquen is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Combee. In this catalog that name is Combee (#415).

Vespiquen sits at 5/135 in Plasma Storm, position 5 of 138. Before it is 4 Combee, and after it is 6 Cherubi. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on February 6, 2013. The printed size is 135. This checklist is longer, at 138 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Gather Order lists no damage number. The cost is Grass. Search your deck for as many Combee as you like and put them onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward. Damage Beat is another attack lists 20× damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Does 20 damage times the number of damage counters on the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It houses its colony in cells in its body and releases various pheromones to make those grubs do its bidding."

Vespiquen (#416) has 11 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Vespiquen 39/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Hajime Kusajima illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 1. 8 other cards of Vespiquen list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hajime Kusajima. I count 206 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Plasma Storm set binder is where a full Plasma Storm set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vespiquen can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
