Vespiquen 31/100 · Stormfront

Stormfront is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on November 1, 2008. The printed size is 100. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. Vespiquen is 31/100, in position 31 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is 30 Tyranitar, and after it is 32 Bibarel. The listed rarity is Rare.

Vespiquen is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. The card lists level 44. In the Pokédex this is Vespiquen (#416), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Combee. In this catalog that name is Combee (#415).

Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this card. The same name is on 74 other cards in the catalog.

Vespiquen (#416) has 11 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Vespiquen 39/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 1. 8 other cards of Vespiquen list a different HP.

Green Dignity is listed as Poké-Body. As long as you have more Prize cards left than your opponent, Vespiquen's attacks do 10 more damage for each Grass Pokémon on your Bench to the Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Bee Drain lists 20 damage. The cost is Grass. After your attack, remove from Vespiquen the number of damage counters equal to the damage you did to the Defending Pokémon. Bee Powder is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Flip 2 coins. If both are heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Burned, Paralyzed, and Poisoned. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Stormfront, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Stormfront set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vespiquen can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
