Muk 46/116 · Plasma Freeze

Muk is Pokédex #089, generation 1 (Kanto). Muk is a Stage 1 Team Plasma Psychic Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Grimer. In this catalog that name is Grimer (#088).

Muk sits at 46/116 in Plasma Freeze, position 46 of 122. Before it is 45 Grimer, and after it is 47 Mr. Mime. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on May 8, 2013. The printed size is 116. This checklist is longer, at 122 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Poison Suction lists 60 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon is Poisoned, heal 60 damage from this Pokémon. Sludge Crash is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, discard an Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It's so stinky! Muk's body contains toxic elements, and any plant will wilt when it passes by."

Muk (#089) has 31 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Muk 13/62 in Fossil (1999). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 28 other cards of Muk list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Plasma Freeze set binder is where a full Plasma Freeze set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Muk can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
