Elekid 48/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Diamond & Pearl is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. Elekid is 48/130, in position 48 of 130 on this checklist. Before it is 47 Dusclops, and after it is 49 Grotle. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Elekid is a Basic Lightning Pokémon with 40 HP. The card lists level 6. In the Pokédex this is Elekid (#239), generation 2 (Johto). The card lists Electabuzz, Electabuzz (#125) under evolves to.

Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this card. The same name is on 656 other cards in the catalog.

Elekid (#239) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2023. The earliest other card is Elekid 22/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 30 HP, and this one lists 40 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Miki Tanaka illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Elekid list a different HP.

Baby Evolution is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may put Electabuzz from your hand onto Elekid (this counts as evolving Elekid) and remove all damage counters from Elekid. The attack Outlet lists no damage number. Search your deck for a Lightning Energy card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Weakness is Fighting +10. Resistance is Metal -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It generates electricity by whirling its arms. However, it can't store the energy it makes."

I keep a set binder for Diamond & Pearl, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Diamond & Pearl set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Elekid can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Baby Pokémon. I still need this card.
