Donphan 48/132 · Secret Wonders

Secret Wonders is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on November 1, 2007. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. Donphan is 48/132, in position 48 of 132 on this checklist. Before it is 47 Cloyster, and after it is 49 Farfetch'd. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Donphan is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 100 HP. The card lists level 48. In the Pokédex this is Donphan (#232), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Phanpy. In this catalog that name is Phanpy (#231).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Donphan (#232) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Donphan 21/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. 18 other cards of Donphan list a different HP.

The attack Rapid Spin lists 40 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless. Your opponent switches the Defending Pokémon with 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon, if any. You switch Donphan with 1 of your Benched Pokémon, if any. Bash In is another attack lists 70+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon has a Pokémon Tool card attached to it, this attack does 70 damage plus 60 more damage. Weakness is Water +20. Resistance is Lightning -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It attacks by curling up, then rolling into its foe. It can blow apart a house in one hit."

I keep a set binder for Secret Wonders, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Secret Wonders set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Donphan can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
