Donphan 8/17 · POP Series 3

Donphan is Pokédex #232, generation 2 (Johto). Donphan is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 80 HP. The card says it evolves from Phanpy. In this catalog that name is Phanpy (#231).

Donphan sits at 8/17 in POP Series 3, position 8 of 17. Before it is 7 Combusken, and after it is 9 Forretress. The set belongs to the POP series. It was released on April 1, 2006. The printed size is 17, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Sniff Out lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Put any 1 card from your discard pile into your hand. Fury Attack is another attack lists 30× damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Flip 3 coins. This attack does 30 damage times the number of heads. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

Donphan (#232) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Donphan 21/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Tomoaki Imakuni illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 1. 16 other cards of Donphan list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Tomoaki Imakuni. I count 13 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

POP Series 3 set binder is where a full POP Series 3 set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Donphan can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
