Donphan 7/147 · Aquapolis

Donphan is Pokédex #232, generation 2 (Johto). Donphan is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 80 HP. The card says it evolves from Phanpy. In this catalog that name is Phanpy (#231).

Donphan sits at 7/147 in Aquapolis, position 7 of 182. Before it is 6 Blissey, and after it is 8 Electrode. The set belongs to the E-Card series. It was released on January 15, 2003. The printed size is 147. This checklist is longer, at 182 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Earthquake lists 30 damage. The cost is Fighting. Does 10 damage to each of your own Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Double Stab is another attack lists 40× damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Flip 2 coins. This attack does 40 damage times the number of heads. Weakness is Grass ×2. Resistance is Lightning -30. Retreat cost is 2.

Donphan (#232) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Donphan 21/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 16 other cards of Donphan list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mitsuhiro Arita. I count 721 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Aquapolis set binder is where a full Aquapolis set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Donphan can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
