Darkrai 4/106 · Great Encounters

Darkrai is Pokédex #491, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Darkrai is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 40.

Darkrai sits at 4/106 in Great Encounters, position 4 of 106. Before it is 3 Darkrai, and after it is 5 Pachirisu. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on February 1, 2008. The printed size is 106, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Darkness Roar lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. You may have your opponent switch the Defending Pokémon with 1 or his or her Benched Pokémon. Sleep Hole is another attack lists 40+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon is Asleep, this attack does 40 damage plus 40 more damage. If the Defending Pokémon is not Asleep, that Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Fighting +20. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It can lull people to sleep and make them dream. It is active during nights of the new moon."

Darkrai (#491) has 40 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Darkrai LV.X DP19/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Darkrai LV.X, while this one is Darkrai. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Ryo Ueda illustrated this one. 38 other cards of Darkrai list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ryo Ueda. I count 462 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Great Encounters set binder is where a full Great Encounters set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Darkrai can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
