Illumise 71/106 · Great Encounters

Illumise is Pokédex #314, generation 3 (Hoenn). Illumise is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. The card lists level 29.

Illumise sits at 71/106 in Great Encounters, position 71 of 106. Before it is 70 Igglybuff, and after it is 72 Jigglypuff. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on February 1, 2008. The printed size is 106, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Common.

Scent Conduct is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for a Grass Basic Pokémon and put it onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward. This power can't be used if Illumise is affected by a Special Condition. The attack Firefly Scent lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon has any Poké-Bodies, that Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Fire +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "With its sweet aroma, it guides VOLBEAT to draw signs with light in the night sky."

Illumise (#314) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Illumise 38/100 in Sandstorm (2003). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Common. Kyoko Umemoto illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Illumise list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Great Encounters set binder is where a full Great Encounters set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Illumise can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
