Groudon 29/146 · Legends Awakened

Legends Awakened is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on August 1, 2008. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. Groudon is 29/146, in position 29 of 146 on this checklist. Before it is 28 Forretress, and after it is 30 Heatran. The listed rarity is Rare.

Groudon is a Basic Fighting Pokémon with 100 HP. The card lists level 45. In the Pokédex this is Groudon (#383), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Kazuaki Aihara illustrated this card. The same name is on 11 other cards in the catalog.

Groudon (#383) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Groudon ex 2/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Groudon ex, while this one is Groudon. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Kazuo Yazawa illustrated that card, and Kazuaki Aihara illustrated this one. 26 other cards of Groudon list a different HP.

The attack Drought lists no damage number. Choose up to 2 basic Fighting Energy cards from your hand and attach them to 1 of your Pokémon. Major Earthquake is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless. Discard 2 Fighting Energy attached to Groudon and this attack does 10 damage to each of your Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Resistance is Lightning -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It had been asleep in underground magma ever since it fiercely fought Kyogre long ago."

I keep a set binder for Legends Awakened, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Legends Awakened set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Groudon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
