Slowking 12/123 · HeartGold & SoulSilver

HeartGold & SoulSilver is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 10, 2010. The printed size is 123. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. Slowking is 12/123, in position 12 of 124 on this checklist. Before it is 11 Shuckle, and after it is 13 Wobbuffet. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Slowking is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Slowking (#199), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Slowpoke. In this catalog that name is Slowpoke (#079).

Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this card. The same name is on 212 other cards in the catalog.

Slowking (#199) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Slowking 14/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 18 other cards of Slowking list a different HP.

Second Sight is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may look at the top 3 cards of that player's deck and put them back on top of that player's deck in any order. This power can't be used if Slowking is affected by a Special Condition. The attack Psyshock lists 30 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It has incredible intellect and intuition. Whatever the situation, it remains calm and collected."

I keep a set binder for HeartGold & SoulSilver, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the HeartGold & SoulSilver set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Slowking can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
