Parasect 48/123 · HeartGold & SoulSilver

Parasect is Pokédex #047, generation 1 (Kanto). Parasect is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Paras. In this catalog that name is Paras (#046).

Parasect sits at 48/123 in HeartGold & SoulSilver, position 48 of 124. Before it is 47 Miltank, and after it is 49 Quilava. The set belongs to the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 10, 2010. The printed size is 123. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Sleep Drain lists no damage number. The cost is Grass. The Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. Remove 4 damage counters from Parasect. Slash is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "The larger the mushroom on its back grows, the stronger the mushroom spores it scatters."

Parasect (#047) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Parasect 41/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 15 other cards of Parasect list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Midori Harada. I count 352 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

HeartGold & SoulSilver set binder is where a full HeartGold & SoulSilver set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Parasect can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
