Parasect 35/64 · Neo Revelation

Neo Revelation is a set in the Neo series. It was released on September 21, 2001. The printed size is 64. This checklist is longer, at 66 cards. Parasect is 35/64, in position 35 of 66 on this checklist. Before it is 34 Octillery, and after it is 36 Piloswine. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Parasect is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 60 HP. The card lists level 30. In the Pokédex this is Parasect (#047), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Paras. In this catalog that name is Paras (#046).

Atsuko Nishida illustrated this card. The same name is on 408 other cards in the catalog.

Parasect (#047) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Parasect 41/64 in Jungle (1999). Both list 60 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Atsuko Nishida illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 14 other cards of Parasect list a different HP.

Allergic Pollen is listed as Pokémon Power. As long as Parasect is in play, cards in any player's discard piles are not affected by attacks or Pokémon Powers. This power stops working if Parasect becomes Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. The attack Sleep Pinchers lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It stays mostly in dark, damp places, the preference not of the bug, but of the big mushrooms on its back."

I keep a set binder for Neo Revelation, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Neo Revelation set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Parasect can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
