Shaymin 14/127 · Platinum

Shaymin is Pokédex #492, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Shaymin is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. The card lists level 42.

Shaymin sits at 14/127 in Platinum, position 14 of 133. Before it is 13 Rampardos, and after it is 15 Shaymin. The set belongs to the Platinum series. It was released on February 11, 2009. The printed size is 127. This checklist is longer, at 133 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Flower Aroma lists 10 damage. The cost is Grass. Remove 2 damage counters from Shaymin. The Defending Pokémon is now Asleep. Damage Aid is another attack lists 30+ damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. If the Defending Pokémon is affected by a Special Condition, this attack does 30 damage plus 50 more damage. Then, remove all Special Conditions from the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It lives in flower patches and avoids detection by curling up to look like a flowering plant."

Shaymin (#492) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Shaymin LV.X DP39/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Shaymin LV.X, while this one is Shaymin. That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Shaymin list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Platinum set binder is where a full Platinum set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shaymin can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
