Shaymin 38/127 · Platinum

Shaymin is Pokédex #492, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Shaymin is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 44.

Shaymin sits at 38/127 in Platinum, position 38 of 133. Before it is 37 Palkia, and after it is 39 Torterra. The set belongs to the Platinum series. It was released on February 11, 2009. The printed size is 127. This checklist is longer, at 133 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Energy Blow lists 10+ damage. Does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to Shaymin. Aromatherapy is another attack lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Remove 2 damage counters from each of your Pokémon. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Water -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It lives in flower patches and avoids detection by curling up to look like a flowering plant."

Shaymin (#492) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Shaymin LV.X DP39/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Shaymin LV.X, while this one is Shaymin. That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 29 other cards of Shaymin list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Platinum set binder is where a full Platinum set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shaymin can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
