Arbok 27/68 · Hidden Fates

Arbok is Pokédex #024, generation 1 (Kanto). Arbok is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Ekans. In this catalog that name is Ekans (#023).

Arbok sits at 27/68 in Hidden Fates, position 27 of 69. Before it is 26 Ekans, and after it is 28 Koffing. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 23, 2019. The printed size is 68. This checklist is longer, at 69 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

Last Pattern is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon is Knocked Out by damage from an opponent's attack, discard 2 random cards from your opponent's hand. The attack Rocket Tail lists 50+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. If Jessie & James is in your discard pile, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "The latest research has determined that there are over 20 possible arrangements of the patterns on its stomach."

Arbok (#024) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Arbok 31/62 in Fossil (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and kirisAki illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Arbok list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kirisAki. I count 189 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Hidden Fates set binder is where a full Hidden Fates set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Arbok can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
