Medicham 77/168 · Celestial Storm

Celestial Storm is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. Medicham is 77/168, in position 78 of 187 on this checklist. Before it is 76 Meditite, and after it is 78 Baltoy. The listed rarity is Rare.

Medicham is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Medicham (#308), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Meditite. In this catalog that name is Meditite (#307).

Misa Tsutsui illustrated this card. The same name is on 94 other cards in the catalog.

Medicham (#308) has 24 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Medicham 10/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Misa Tsutsui illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Medicham list a different HP.

The attack Strike of Enlightenment lists 10+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting. If this Pokémon's remaining HP is 30 or less, this attack does 160 more damage. Spinning Kick is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting. This Pokémon does 30 damage to itself. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Through yoga training, it gained the psychic power to predict its foe's next move."

I keep a set binder for Celestial Storm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celestial Storm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Medicham can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
