Mismagius SM245/248 · SM Black Star Promos

SM Black Star Promos is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. Mismagius is SM245/248, in position 248 of 251 on this checklist. Before it is SM244 Aipom, and after it is SM246 Sabrina & Brycen. The listed rarity is Promo.

Mismagius is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Mismagius (#429), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Misdreavus. In this catalog that name is Misdreavus (#200).

NC Empire illustrated this card. The same name is on 35 other cards in the catalog.

Mismagius (#429) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mismagius 10/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Mikiko Takeda illustrated that card, and NC Empire illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Mismagius list a different HP.

The attack Psybeam lists 20 damage. The cost is Psychic. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. Nonahex is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon has exactly 9 damage counters on it, that Pokémon is Knocked Out. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Feared for its wrath and the curses it spreads, this Pokémon will also, on a whim, cast spells that help people."

I keep a set binder for SM Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SM Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mismagius can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
