Mew V 69/189 · Darkness Ablaze

Darkness Ablaze is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on August 14, 2020. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 201 cards. Mew V is 69/189, in position 69 of 201 on this checklist. Before it is 68 Wigglytuff, and after it is 70 Snubbull. The listed rarity is Rare Holo V.

Mew V is a Basic V Psychic Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Mew (#151), generation 1 (Kanto).

PLANETA Mochizuki illustrated this card. The same name is on 131 other cards in the catalog.

Mew (#151) has 60 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 34 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mew 8/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Mew, while this one is Mew V. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo V. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and PLANETA Mochizuki illustrated this one. 50 other cards of Mew list a different HP.

The attack X Ball lists 30× damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic. This attack does 30 damage for each Energy attached to both Active Pokémon. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is D.

I keep a set binder for Darkness Ablaze, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Darkness Ablaze set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mew can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mew and Mewtwo and Mythical Pokémon, from Sword & Shield on. I still need this card.
