Galarian Slowking VMAX 207/198 · Chilling Reign

Slowking is Pokédex #199, generation 2 (Johto). Galarian Slowking VMAX is a VMAX Single Strike Darkness Pokémon with 320 HP. The card says it evolves from Galarian Slowking V. In this catalog that name is Slowking (#199).

Galarian Slowking VMAX sits at 207/198 in Chilling Reign, position 207 of 233. Before it is 206 Sandaconda VMAX, and after it is 208 Metagross VMAX. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on June 18, 2021. The printed size is 198. This checklist is longer, at 233 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 198. The listed rarity is Rare Rainbow.

The attack Max Toxify lists 10 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Poisoned. During Pokémon Checkup, put 12 damage counters on that Pokémon instead of 1. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The card text says: VMAX rule: When your Pokémon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards. The regulation mark is E.

Slowking (#199) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Slowking 14/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Slowking, while this one is Galarian Slowking VMAX. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 320 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Rainbow. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 24 other cards of Slowking list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Chilling Reign set binder is where a full Chilling Reign set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Slowking can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Galarian forms, VMAX cards, Single Strike, and Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking. I still need this card.
