Galarian Slowking 98/198 · Chilling Reign

Slowking is Pokédex #199, generation 2 (Johto). Galarian Slowking is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Galarian Slowpoke. In this catalog that name is Slowpoke (#079).

Galarian Slowking sits at 98/198 in Chilling Reign, position 98 of 233. Before it is 97 Galarian Moltres V, and after it is 99 Galarian Slowking V. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on June 18, 2021. The printed size is 198. This checklist is longer, at 233 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Mysterious Potion is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may choose 1 of your Pokémon and flip a coin. If heads, heal 90 damage from that Pokémon. If tails, put 3 damage counters on that Pokémon. The attack Spray Fluid lists 90 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "While chanting strange spells, this Pokémon combines its internal toxins with what it's eaten, creating strange potions." The regulation mark is E.

Slowking (#199) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Slowking 14/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card is named Slowking, while this one is Galarian Slowking. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Naoki Saito illustrated this one. 22 other cards of Slowking list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Naoki Saito. I count 270 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Chilling Reign set binder is where a full Chilling Reign set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Slowking can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Galarian forms and Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking. I still need this card.
