Luxray SWSH023/307 · SWSH Black Star Promos

SWSH Black Star Promos is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on November 15, 2019. The printed size is 307. This checklist is longer, at 304 cards. Luxray is SWSH023/307, in position 23 of 304 on this checklist. Before it is SWSH022 Flapple, and after it is SWSH024 Coalossal. The listed rarity is Promo.

Luxray is a Stage 2 Lightning Pokémon with 160 HP. In the Pokédex this is Luxray (#405), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Luxio. In this catalog that name is Luxio (#404).

Megumi Higuchi illustrated this card. The same name is on 17 other cards in the catalog.

Luxray (#405) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Luxray 7/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 160 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Mikiko Takeda illustrated that card, and Megumi Higuchi illustrated this one. 22 other cards of Luxray list a different HP.

The attack Raid lists 60+ damage. The cost is Lightning. If this Pokémon evolved from Luxio during this turn, this attack does 100 more damage. Head Bolt is another attack lists 120 damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Luxray's ability to see through objects comes in handy when it's scouting for danger." The regulation mark is D.

I keep a set binder for SWSH Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SWSH Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Luxray can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
