Medicham 81/160 · Primal Clash

Primal Clash is a set in the XY series. It was released on February 4, 2015. The printed size is 160. This checklist is longer, at 164 cards. Medicham is 81/160, in position 81 of 164 on this checklist. Before it is 80 Medicham, and after it is 82 Trapinch. The listed rarity is Rare.

Medicham is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Medicham (#308), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Meditite. In this catalog that name is Meditite (#307).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Medicham (#308) has 24 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Medicham 10/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Medicham list a different HP.

The attack Calm Mind lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Heal 30 damage from this Pokémon. Yoga Kick is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. Ω Barrage is the ancient trait on this card. This Pokémon may attack twice a turn. (If the first attack Knocks Out your opponent's Active Pokémon, you may attack again after your opponent chooses a new Active Pokémon.) The flavor text reads "Through yoga training, it gained the psychic power to predict its foe's next move."

I keep a set binder for Primal Clash, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Primal Clash set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Medicham can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
