Banette 31/108 · Roaring Skies

Roaring Skies is a set in the XY series. It was released on May 6, 2015. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 112 cards. Banette is 31/108, in position 31 of 112 on this checklist. Before it is 30 Shuppet, and after it is 32 Banette. The listed rarity is Rare.

Banette is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Banette (#354), generation 3 (Hoenn). The card says it evolves from Shuppet. In this catalog that name is Shuppet (#353).

Aya Kusube illustrated this card. The same name is on 127 other cards in the catalog.

Banette (#354) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2026. The earliest other card is Banette 1/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Midori Harada illustrated that card, and Aya Kusube illustrated this one. 18 other cards of Banette list a different HP.

Tool Concealment is listed as Ability. Each Pokémon Tool card in play has no effect. The attack Psyshot lists 60 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Strong feelings of hatred turned a puppet into a Pokémon. If it opens its mouth, its cursed energy escapes."

I keep a set binder for Roaring Skies, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Roaring Skies set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Banette can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
